A two story rear extension to almost double the ground floor and full internal renovation of this 1920’s property in an architectural conservation area of Dublin 4. The finished project benefited from new hardwood sliding sash windows and external screens.

New solar panels on a full new mechanical system combined with a full rewire incorporating audio and home automation features. An attic conversion included a large bedroom and en suite bathroom, new dormer windows to the front elevation and conservation velux windows to the rear. As we are registered members of the SEAI, the owners were able to get grants for the internal insulation works completed to all external walls and attic.

Our brick layers take great care to match new mortars with existing, leaving an almost indistinguishable transition from new to old work. These off standard existing imperial bricks were sourced by Whelan & O’Keeffe as a metric brick in the UK and then cut to size by our brick specialist here in Ireland.

Our ability to adapt to the numerous challenges produced by such a restoration combined with our vast array of artisan trades people is what makes Whelan & O Keeffe one of Ireland’s premier high end home specialists.
